Ability is malleable and thinking skills highly teachable. Talent Development is a philosophical shift in gifted education that aims at identifying talents across traditionally underrepresented groups and in academic domains as well as non-academic domains like leadership, art, sports, music, and more. In this workshop, we will study a variety of models of talent development and learn which best fit our school. We will learn to embed higher order thinking skills into curriculum like problem solving, creativity, synthesizing ideas, and critical thinking. We will collaborate to create equitable classrooms where advanced learners feel challenged and fulfilled.
